A new year is almost upon us. Time to start making those New Year’s Resolutions … right?
Well, maybe not so fast.
Consider first making a list of “Lessons Learned This Year.”
Think about what you have learned this year… about yourself – maybe previously unrecognized strengths or talents … about your dreams … about your values … about what brings you joy …
Take a moment to list what you have learned. You are worth a few moments of your time, don’t you think?
Some of my own lessons learned this year include:
- It’s ok to rest when you are tired. This is not a sign of weakness.
- It’s important to challenge my fears, as it’s never really as bad as it feels.
- Refined sugar and artificial sweeteners are not “my friends”.
- Making the effort to maintain my extended family connections is always worth it.
- Lead with love and things tend to fall in place.
- Grieving cannot be rushed.
- Joy is a choice.
- When darkness begins to overwhelm me, I can always light a candle.
Find the wisdom that you have gained during this year and let it guide you as you set your intentions for the next year.
And my wish for you is that you begin 2016 with joy!
